The type of personal information collected

The following information is currently collected and processed:

• Personal identifiers, contacts and characteristics (for example: name and contact details)
• Personal medical history
• Previous and current obstetric history
• Emergency contact details
• Details of your treatment
• Photographs of your treatments (only taken & shared with consent)

How we get the personal information and why we have it

The personal information processed is provided directly by you for one of the following reasons:

• Received from you via the enquiry form, consultation form & email or phone call.
• To ensure it is safe to proceed with complementary therapies in your pregnancy.
• To ensure you do not have any medical or obstetric conditions that would be a contraindication for the treatment.
• Natal Balance wish to obtain your contact details so that we can contact you before & after a treatment.
• Information may be shared with your midwife or obstetrician, if there was a specific reason during or immediately after a treatment. 

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are:

(1) Your consent. You are able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting claire@natalbalance.co.uk

(2) We have a legal obligation.

(3) We have a vital interest.

(4) We have a legitimate interest.

How we store your personal information

Your information is securely stored on an encrypted hard drive.

An individual's personal details and treatment details are kept for 25 years (this is in line with NHS Maternity records storage protocol).

We will then dispose of your information by deleting your details from the encrypted hard drive.

Your data protection rights

Under data protection law, you have rights including:

Your right of access - You have the right to ask for copies of your personal information.

Your right to rectification - You have the right ask to amend any personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask to complete information you think is incomplete.

Your right to erasure - You have the right to ask to delete your personal information in certain circumstances.

Your right to restriction of processing - You have the right to ask to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

Your right to object to processing - You have the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

Your right to data portability - You have the right to ask for transfer of the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, Natal Balance has one month to respond to you.
